In 2025, transaction prices for houses in mainland Portugal registered an increase of 23.4% compared to the previous year, the largest annual growth in almost four decades.

This represents a significant acceleration compared to 2024, when prices had grown by 11%, and establishes a new historical high since the beginning of the Residential Price Index series in 1988.
